The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 schedule was unveiled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. From March 22 to April 7, 21 matches will be held in 10 cities. Each team will play between three to five matches during this period.
The 17th IPL season will start with Chennai Super Kings facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. The weekend will have two double headers: Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad. On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals will play Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, followed by Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians.
Opting for Visakhapatnam as their initial home ground, the Delhi Capitals will host Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, March 31st, followed by a match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the same venue on Wednesday, April 3rd.
The BCCI will collaborate with government and security agencies, adhering to protocols and advisories for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. After the announcement of the 18th Lok Sabha election dates, the Board will assess and resolve any schedule-related concerns for the initial two weeks. Furthermore, they will coordinate with local authorities to finalize the remaining season’s schedule, considering the polling dates.
